AMC Holds “Free Medical Day”

In Collaboration with The Institute for Family health –a Subsidiary of Nour Al Hussein Foundation -, and Jordan International Insurance Company, AMC held a “Free Medical Day” at it’s branch in Jabal Al Hussein, Amman; In pursuit of supporting 700 underprivileged patient who has minimal or no access to medical services.

In a statement made by  General Manager of AMC,  he explained that the importance of such an event lies in the various free medical tests and examinations as well as important awareness information provided to the local community.

 

The Examinations and tests were carried out by a group of health professionals from all fields including General Medicine, Pediatrics, Gynecologists, Dermatologists, ENT, Orthopedics, Gastroenterologists, Dentists, Internal Medicine, and Emergency doctors supported by a team of staff nurses who examined patients and issued free prescriptions under the supervision of the Ministry of Health’s delegate.

A team of pharmacists also assisted in carrying out the prescriptions written to patients and provided the medications needed as well as giving out free blood sugar monitors to diabetic patients.

 

 Also, A team of Social and Children councilors were present to speak with Women and Children who suffer from social or psychological problems or has been domestically abused by their families providing them with the needed aid and follow up where necessary.

General Manager extended his gratitude to the Medical staff and AMC partners who attended and supported such a successful event, pointing out the reason behind holding such events is reaching out to the largest segment of the community and provide those in need with the care they are missing and enhance the communication between civil institutions, he also mentioned that this events and similar activities streamlines with the company’s philosophy to uphold it’s responsibility towards the local community and contribute to the improvement of our society thus embodying the partnership between civil institutions and establishments.

Fatima Gerges, a 62 years old lady stressed on the value of this Medical day saying “due to our lack of health insurance, this day is an opportunity for my Husband and my self to seek out the medical care we much need and cannot afford”.
